Streaming LIVE on FITE THIS FRIDAY AND SATURDAY at 5am ET (on-demand immediately following) IMPACT Wrestling presents the 2-show Down Under Tour, marking the company’s first-ever major events in Australia. Tickets are on-sale now at oceaniaprowrestling.com and intix.com.au.
In the main event of Against All Odds, Alex Shelley realized his dream over 20 years in the making when he dethroned Steve Maclin to become IMPACT World Champion for the very first time. But there’s no rest for the weary as we learned just one week later on IMPACT! that Maclin would receive his contractually-obligated rematch on Friday, June 30th at the IMPACT Down Under Tour in Australia. Maclin is incensed on reclaiming the IMPACT World Title which begs the question, does Shelley have what it takes to beat him not once but twice? With Shelley currently scheduled to defend against #1 Contender Nick Aldis at Slammiversary, this match has the potential to shake up that card.
Chris Sabin dethroned Trey Miguel to become a record-setting 9-time X-Division Champion. When IMPACT Wrestling goes down under, Sabin will put his title on the line as he defends against fellow X-Division pioneer Frankie Kazarian and New Japan Pro-Wrestling’s Robbie Eagles, who will be competing in his home country of Australia. Buckle up for what promises to be an edge-of-your-seat thrill ride!
After overcoming the challenge of Dirty Dango, Joe Hendry will now turn his attention towards Eddie Edwards as he defends his Digital Media Title against the IMPACT veteran on June 30th. While Edwards is no stranger to championship gold, the Digital Media Title is one of the few titles that has eluded him during his illustrious career. But will all of that change when IMPACT Wrestling goes down under?
The Good Hands may have failed to capture the IMPACT World Tag Team Titles but Brian Myers isn’t finished with ABC just yet. Myers would go on to rekindle his partnership with former IMPACT World Champion Moose and two will now face off against Ace Austin and Chris Bey on June 30th. A win here could go a long way in earning them a future IMPACT World Tag Team Title opportunity, but do they have what it takes to topple the red-hot duo of Ace and Bey?
Before Deonna Purrazzo and Gisele Shaw face off for the Knockouts World Title on July 1st, they will both look to gain momentum against top stars from Australia. Knockouts World Champion Deonna Purrazzo will battle Steph De Lander, while Gisele Shaw will lock up with Erika Reid.
On June 30th, Killer Kelly puts her deadly skillset on display when she goes one-on-one with Aysha, who hails from Melbourne, Australia.
In what promises to be a hard-hitting clash between two of Australia’s top talents, Slex collides with Adam Brooks on Friday, June 30th.
En route to her scheduled Knockouts World Title defense against Trinity at Slammiversary, Deonna Purrazzo will renew hostilities with longtime rival Gisele Shaw on Saturday, July 1st at the IMPACT Down Under Tour in Australia. At Against All Odds, Purrazzo joined forces with Trinity in a winning effort over Shaw and her head of security, Savannah Evans. However, Shaw’s impressive performance in that match has earned her a crack at the title. While Purrazzo has now held the Knockouts World Title for more than 500 cumulative days, we know that Shaw will stop at nothing to claim the spotlight for herself. If Shaw is able to dethrone Purrazzo, the match at Slammiversary will become a three-way with Shaw joining the fray.
The action continues on July 1st as champions collide in a star-studded bout with the IMPACT World Tag Team Titles on the line. It was back in March when ABC triumphed over the Motor City Machine Guns to become the new IMPACT World Tag Team Champions. Just a few months later, Alex Shelley is now the IMPACT World Champion and Chris Sabin, the X-Division Champion. The Guns will have an opportunity to add even more gold to their collection as they challenge ABC in a highly-anticipated rematch.
There’s no rest for the weary in IMPACT Wrestling as whoever leaves night one of the Down Under Tour as Digital Media Champion, whether it’s Joe Hendry or Eddie Edwards, will put their title on the line against Moose just 24 hours later on July 1st. Moose has had issues with both competitors in the past, and Edwards is considered to be one of his fiercest rivals of all time. One thing is for certain, the action will be as physical as ever in this championship showdown.
Recently on IMPACT!, Steve Maclin and Bully Ray toppled Frankie Kazarian and Eddie Edwards in tag team action. While Kazarian was unable to form a winning strategy with Edwards, he will have an opportunity to even the score when he battles Maclin in singles competition on July 1st. Maclin could be the new IMPACT World Champion coming into this match as he receives his contractually-obligated rematch against Alex Shelley on night one of the Down Under Tour. Meanwhile, Kazarian could also be holding gold as he battles Chris Sabin and Robbie Eagles for the X-Division Title.
Australia’s own Steph De Lander locks up with Killer Kelly on July 1st. De Lander competed for IMPACT back in January of this year and is looking to make a statement at the expense of her opponent. Kelly has proven that she’s willing to sacrifice it all in order to obtain victory, but will it be enough to overcome the powerhouse in her home country?
It’s a three-way match of epic proportions as Brian Myers, Adam Brooks and Robbie Eagles lock horns on July 1st.
The Natural Classics take to the ring for tag team action on July 1st. Opposing them will be the VeloCities as the two duos vie for the all-important victory.
