To celebrate TNA’s return to Philadelphia, here are three special TNA moments held in Philadelphia:

  1. On April 19, 2009, at the Liacouras Center, Mick Foley defeated Sting in a hardcore match inside the Six Sides of Steel to capture the TNA World Championship at TNA Lockdown. This would be the last World Title win in the career of the “Hardcore Legend.”

  1. On August 20, 2023, at the 2300 Arena, Alex Shelley beat Japanese wrestling icon Hiroshi Tanahashi at Multiverse United 2 to retain the TNA World Championship. A rare match between top TNA and New Japan Pro Wrestling stars, it solidified Shelley’s status as a bonafide singles, as well as tag team, star.

  1. On October 16, 2011, at the Liacouras Center, Sting defeated Hulk Hogan with the Scorpion Deathlock at TNA Bound for Glory to return control of TNA to Dixie Carter and end the reign of terror of “Immortal.” After the match, in a fan favorite moment, Hulk saw the error of his ways and saved Sting from an “Immortal” beatdown, ending in the two career rivals “Hulking Up” together.
