After calling his shot to become the new TNA World Champion in dramatic fashion, Frankie Kazarian will make his first title defense at Final Resolution. Stepping up to the self-proclaimed "King of TNA" will be a fan-favorite member of The System, JDC. At Turning Point, JDC made the emotional announcement that he will be retiring from in-ring competition this January at Genesis. While JDC is an accomplished pro wrestling veteran, there is one milestone left for him to accomplish: become the TNA World Champion. And after JDC defeated Eric Young on iMPACT!, he was granted that opportunity by Director of Authority Santino Marella. Will JDC realize his dream at Final Resolution? Or will Kazarian retain his spot on the throne?

History was made at NXT Gold Rush Week Two when Léi Yǐng Lee defeated Kelani Jordan and Jordynne Grace to become the new TNA Knockouts World Champion — the first Chinese champion in TNA Wrestling history. Meanwhile, eight Knockouts contenders waged war in two 4-Way matches on iMPACT. Dani Luna and Xia Brookside emerged victorious in their respective bouts, and they will now face each other on the December 4th episode of iMPACT. The winner of that singles match will earn a coveted TNA Knockouts World Title opportunity just one night later at Final Resolution.

NXT Superstars Robert Stone, Charlie Dempsey, Lexis King, Stacks, Brooks Jensen, Tyson Dupont and Tyriek Igwe made a bold statement when they brutally assaulted TNA Wrestlers at TNA iMPACT! LIVE and Turning Point. But instead of trying to keep them out, TNA Wrestling is opening the doors in a series of high-stakes matchups for brand supremacy: The Hardys vs. Tyson Dupont and Tyriek Igwe for the TNA World Tag Team Championship, Steve Maclin vs. Stacks for the TNA International Championship, and Mike Santana vs. Charlie Dempsey. Everyone is out for revenge, especially Santana after an arm injury at the hands of the NXT outsiders played a role in him losing the TNA World Title to Frankie Kazarian.

At Turning Point, Leon Slater successfully retained the TNA X-Division Championship against Rich Swann in a  breathtaking match born out of the altercation between B.D.E and FIR$T CLA$$. Much to the dismay of A.J. Francis, Swann would hug Slater in a tremendous sign of sportsmanship. Now, A.J. Francis will have an opportunity to bring the X-Division Title to FIR$T CLA$$ when he challenges Slater at Final Resolution.

After competing in The Last Time is Now Tournament on WWE SmackDown, Matt Cardona returned to the iMPACT! Zone for a match against the unhinged Mance Warner. Steph De Lander distracted the referee, allowing Warner to use a weapon in order to steal the victory. Later in the night, a vengeful Cardona would lay out the challenge for a match with no disqualifications and no countouts. We can now confirm that at Final Resolution, Matt Cardona and Mance Warner will collide in a Street Fight.
