A NEW DESTINATION
To celebrate the return of Destination X, here are three of the most memorable moments in the event’s history:
1. On March 12, 2006, Christopher Daniels defeated Samoa Joe and A.J. Styles in an Ultimate X Match to win the X Division Championship. The match featured three of the defining stars of early TNA and remains one of the most iconic Destination X matches in history.
2. On March 15, 2009, Suicide defeated Alex Shelley, Chris Sabin, Consequences Creed and Jay Lethal in an Ultimate X Match at Destination X to win the TNA X Division Championship. The high-flying contest saw cult figure Suicide capture his first championship in TNA.
3. On July 8, 2012, Austin Aries defeated Bobby Roode to become TNA World Heavyweight Champion in the Destination X main event. Aries had given up his X Division Championship by creating and cashing in “Option C,” earning a shot at the TNA World Championship and making history by successfully capturing the prestigious title.
