Revealed exclusively on IMPACTWrestling.com, here are the 2019 Year End Award winners for X-Division Star and Finisher of the Year.
In 2019, Rich Swann proved himself as one of the top athletes on the IMPACT Wrestling roster. Swann wasted no time making 2019 his time to shine when he won the X-Division Championship in Ultimate X at Homecoming. Swann used this platform to propel himself into the World Title picture, earning a highly sought-after opportunity at Sami Callihan and the World Championship. Alongside his tag team partner Willie Mack, Swann now has his sights set on Tag Team gold. You could say the sky is the limit for Swann but since we’re talking about the X-Division, there is no limit to how high he can fly.

2019 was an unforgettable year in IMPACT Wrestling history and you can relive it’s greatest moments on our Best of 2019 Two Week Special, December 28th and January 4th at 8/7c on AXS TV and Twitch. But before we get there, let’s take a look at who we think will be IMPACT World Champion in 2020.
The first challenge for reigning World Champion Sami Callihan will come on January 12th at Hard To Kill when he defends his title against long-time rival Tessa Blanchard. Callihan may not admit that Blanchard is a threat but we believe that’s far from the truth. Yes, Blanchard has fallen short to Callihan in the past but that has provided her with learning opportunities that can only be taught by failure. However, Callihan’s loyal followers in oVe always seem to play a factor in the outcome of his matches. If Blanchard’s new found ally Ken Shamrock can somehow eliminate Madman Fulton when they meet one-on-one at Hard To Kill, Blanchard may only have to worry about Dave and Jake Crist.
We know that Callihan is a master manipulator when it comes to mind games and that will likely be his key to victory if he’s able to defeat Blanchard at Hard To Kill. Just this past Tuesday, Callihan vowed to expose the truth about Blanchard in an attempt to weaken her mental game. Much to the chagrin of Callihan, there was no backing down from Blanchard as she confronted him head on, leading to a brawl on the streets of New York City. Blanchard is poised and ready to become IMPACT World Champion.
Whoever makes it out of Hard To Kill with the World Title around their waist will have a long line of competitors waiting to challenge them. At Hard To Kill alone, we have match ups like Brian Cage vs RVD, Moose vs Rhino, Michael Elgin vs Eddie Edwards and Ken Shamrock vs Madman Fulton. All of these bouts will be sure to shed some light on potential contenders for the IMPACT World Championship.
If we had to pick one of these competitors who we thought would be World Champion in 2020, our money would be on Moose. The self-proclaimed greatest multi-sport athlete of all time has come incredibly close to winning the World Title on previous occasions, but has never sealed the deal. Moose has looked as dominant as ever in recent months, scoring a massive victory over MMA legend Ken Shamrock at Bound for Glory and picking a fight with one of the most intense individuals on the IMPACT Wrestling roster, Rhino. Moose has been at the top of IMPACT Wrestling ever since his debut in 2016 and 2020 should be his year to shine. If he can defeat Rhino at Hard To Kill and rack up another few impressive victories, he could be next in line for a shot at the gold.
Of course, Eddie Edwards is also in possession of the Call Your Shot Trophy which he won in a gruelling gauntlet at Bound for Glory. This grants him an opportunity at any title of his choosing whenever and wherever he wants. On paper, that gives him a huge advantage over anyone else on the roster. We also know that Michael Elgin wants the Trophy for himself but Edwards has been reluctant to put it on the line in their match at Hard To Kill.
No matter what happens, the IMPACT World Title picture is as competitive as ever. Who will be World Champion in 2020? There’s only one way to find out – watch it all unfold on IMPACT Wrestling.

Who would win in a fight between a Moose and a Rhino? You’re about to find out at Hard to Kill, January 12th on pay-per-view when these two behemoths go one-on-one.
It all started with a simple verbal exchange. On a recent episode of IMPACT, Moose told Rhino that he should have come to him for advice after losing to RVD in an Old School Rules Match. After all, Moose was victorious over The Whole Dam Show last summer at Slammiversary. Rhino doesn’t like being told what to, causing a huge brawl to erupt between them in the backstage area. Rhino got the upper-hand and delivered a vicious Gore to the self-proclaimed greatest multi-sport athlete of all time. Later in the night, the two were involved in another brawl after security could not keep them apart.
At Hard To Kill, there will be no security when Moose and Rhino are unleashed in what is sure to be a wild collision.

In recent weeks, Ken Shamrock has joined forces with Tessa Blanchard and for oVe, that’s a problem. After multiple brawls involving the MMA legend and Madman Fulton, the two will now meet in singles competition at Hard To Kill, January 12th on pay-per-view.
Since returning to IMPACT Wrestling before Bound for Glory, Ken Shamrock has stepped into the ring with some of the best talent IMPACT Wrestling has to offer. However, he’s never faced anyone like the Madman. At times, there’s no controlling Fulton and at Hard To Kill, that may spell the end for Shamrock’s return to IMPACT Wrestling. Who could forget when Fulton viciously tossed Shamrock over the top rope to the floor recently on IMPACT?
Also at Hard To Kill, Sami Callihan will defend the World Championship against Tessa Blanchard. We know that Callihan often has his oVe goons get involved in the matchup and if Fulton is able to take out Shamrock earlier in the night, Blanchard may be on the losing end of a numbers game.

Jordynne catches Tenille in mid-air and hits a delayed vertical suplex. Tenille connect with a legsweep for a one count. Tenille hangs up Jordynne in the ropes with a neckbreaker. Tenille locks in the Tarantula, doing some damage before the referee forces her to break the hold. Jordynne hits a thunderous Spinebuster for a near fall. Tenille counters a Grace Driver attempt from Tenille but gets caught with a clothesline instead. Tenille connects with a butterfly suplex for a very close near fall. Jordynne rolls up Tenille to win.
After the match, Jordynne and Tenille shake hands in the middle of the ring. Taya Valkyrie attacks Jordynne from behind but Tenille helps her fend of the Knockouts Champion. Taya retreats up the ramp as Jordynne and Tenille stand tall.
Backstage, Moose tells Rhino he should have contacted him for tips for his match against RVD last week. Rhino lost the match and Moose reminds him that he defeated RVD at Slammiversary. Moose begins to walk away but gets hit with the Gore.
Tag Team Champions The North confront Willie Mack in the backstage area. They tell Willie disassociate himself with his tag team partner Rich Swann before Swann does it to him. Swann interrupts and tells The North to leave. Swann goes one-on-one with Ethan Page later tonight.
TJP gains the early advantage with a quick dropkick. Daga rolls him up for a two count but TJP counters into a head scissors to begin wearing Daga down. It’s a stalemate after both men hit in-sync dropkicks. Daga hits a Sunset Flip Powerbomb from the ramp, over the top rope and into the ring. Daga connects with a running senton for a near fall. TJP shows his speed and agility with a Hurricanrana into the Cross Armbreaker. TJP takes Daga off the top with a Superplex, followed by the Detonation Kick for a very close near fall. TJP locks in a submission, forcing Daga to tap.
After the match, the Desi Hit Squad attack TJP & Fallah. Daga helps them even the odds but Mahabali Shera takes him out with a massive Chokeslam.
Brian Cage runs into his Hard To Kill opponent Rob Van Dam and Katie Forbes in the backstage area. RVD continues to disrespect him after he smokes in the locker room.
RVD and Katie Forbes are in the ring. He reminds the fans that he has given the professional wrestlers of today their move set. RVD calls Cage the biggest RVD mark of them all, causing the former World Champion to confront him in the ring. Cage and RVD exchange shots with Cage getting the upperhand until Katie gives Cage a low blow. Katie holds a steel chair in front of Cage, allowing RVD to deliver a sick Van Terminator but he doesn’t give the fans what they want. RVD gets off the top rope, walks over to Cage and kicks the chair into his face.
Suzie is talking to Rosemary backstage until Fathers James Mitchell pulls her away and tells Suzie not to interact with the Demon Assassin anymore. Out of nowhere, Havok attacks Rosemary causing Suzie to let out a terrifying scream.
Knockouts Champion Taya Valkyrie tries to enlist the help of Kiera Hogan and Madison Rayne ahead of 3-way title defense against Jordynne Grace and ODB at Hard To Kill. At first, Kiera and Madison don’t seem like they’re interested but Taya convinces them to think about it when she offers opportunities at the Knockouts Title.
Alexander distracts the referee in the early going. Willie gets up on the apron to try and thwart his efforts but it ends up costing his partner as The North is able to hit a double team maneuver on Swann. Page continues to wear down Swann with a variety of offense. Swann creates some distance with a big clothesline. He continues the flurry with a cartwheel splash for a two count. Page sends Swann flying with a huge powerslam off the top, followed by a high-risk Swanton. Swann aims for Page when he flies over the top but Alexander pushes him out of the way, sacrificing himself for his tag team partner. Page gets in Willie’s face at ringside, causing Willie to attack him. The referee calls for the bell, ending the match in disqualification.
The brawl between Moose and Rhino continues backstage until it’s broken up by security.
Before the match begins, Johnny Swinger joins Don Callis and Josh Mathews on commentary. Acey hits a big running splash. Acey loses his balance and falls on the Joey’s crotch but it ends up hurting Acey instead. Joey pulls a lollipop out of his pants but Acey redirects it into the referee’s mouth. Swinger gets involved and makes Acey touch his fanny pack but it’s nothing compared the power of “it”. Joey flips Acey with “it”, puts another lollipop into the mouth of Acey and hits him with Sweet Tooth Music to win.
Gabby Loren interviews Tessa Blanchard as she prepares for World Champion Sami Callihan to expose the truth about her later tonight. Tessa implies she’ll be watching closely.
Michael Elgin bombards the locker room and says that if Eddie Edwards won’t put the Call Your Shot Trophy on the line in their match at Hard To Kill, he’ll just take it.
Petey hits a slingshot Hurricanrana to the floor. Ace regains control with a superkick. Ace is looking to cut Petey with the laminated card but Petey reverses into a pinning attempt for a near fall. Petey goes for the Canadian Destroyer but this time it’s Ace who counters into the Bangorama. Ace puts Petey away with The Fold.
After the match, Ace gets on the mic and dedicates his performance to Trey’s mother. Ace and Trey will meet with the X-Division Title on the line at Hard To Kill.
Trey meets Ace on the other side of the curtain and threatens the champ to never speak of his mother again or else. Ace is about to say something when Trey attacks him. It’s broken up by Reno Scum and security.
World Champion Sami Callihan is in the ring to expose the truth about Tessa Blanchard ahead of their match at Hard To Kill on January 12th. Callihan calls Tessa a fake and praises himself for getting to where he is now, without the help of his father. Tessa interrupts but gets attacked from behind by Madman Fulton. Sami continues the attack in the ring when Ken Shamrock makes the save. Shamrock and Fulton fight in the ring while Callihan and Tessa brawl backstage and outside the arena. IMPACT! goes off the air.

At Hard To Kill on January 12th, Brian Cage looks to beat some respect into Rob Van Dam when the two meet in singles action for the first time ever.
This match came about after RVD rudely interrupted a sit-down interview that Jimmy Jacobs was conducting with Brian Cage on a recent episode of IMPACT. Cage was talking about what was next for him in IMPACT Wrestling after losing the World Championship to Sami Callihan. Now, Cage knows what lies ahead – a match with Rob Van Dam on pay-per-view.
RVD’s new attitude has been rubbing people the wrong way across the entire IMPACT Wrestling roster. Now, Brian Cage has a chance to something about it.

If you thought things couldn’t get any more personal between World Champion Sami Callihan and number one contender Tessa Blanchard, think again.
This Tuesday on IMPACT!, Callihan vows to expose the truth about Tessa. What does he mean by this? The answers lie in the sick mind of Sami Callihan. Regardless of what he says or does, we know that Tessa will not be afraid to confront him about his actions.
Last week on IMPACT!, Callihan’s plan was to have Madman Fulton injure Tessa ahead of their World Championship Match on January 12th at Hard To Kill. However, he was unsuccessful after Tessa received a little help from a certain MMA legend.
