TNA Wrestling was all over this week’s edition of WWE NXT!
After Joe Hendry was assaulted by DarkState last week, the TNA World Champion joined forces with NXT Tag Team Champions Hank and Tank for a six-man tag team grudge match.
Hendry was setting up for the Standing Ovation when Trick Williams made his presence felt once again, brawling with Hendry and taking his attention away from the match. Meanwhile, DarkState capitalized off the chaos, putting Hank and Tank away for the victory.
Later on, a 25-man Battle Royal would determine the #1 Contender for the NXT Championship at WWE Battleground. TNA star Zachary Wentz entered the Battle Royal, crossing paths with his former friend turned enemy, Wes Lee, before being eliminated by Ethan Page.
But that’s not all – it was time for NXT to Walk With Elijah as the musical master joined the fray in hopes of securing an NXT Title opportunity against Oba Femi.
Joe Hendry would gain a measure of revenge when he distracted Trick Williams, allowing Elijah to eliminate him from the Battle Royal. Elijah would be eliminated by Shawn Spears just moments later.
NXT General Manager Ava made a huge announcement: for the first time ever, the TNA World Championship will be defended on a WWE PLE as Joe Hendry puts his title on the line against Trick Williams, May 25 at WWE Battleground! The contract signing will take place next Tuesday on NXT.
Joe Hendry and Elijah face off against Trick Williams and Frankie Kazarian at Under Siege streaming LIVE May 23 on TNA+.
